christmas gifts

So we decided rather than buy each other gifts we would buy stuff for the house. So yesterday we got new bedding and today we got Wii with the excercise stuff to go with it. Love the bedding - the comforter has flowers on one side and the strips on the other side. Still need to buy new pillows (might have to crochet some...) and a bedskirt for it..

Christmas Tree

Had a funny thing happen to me last night. Joe was at work and I was vacuuming the living room. I was no where near the tree. As I was vacuuming the tree fell. When I tried to put it back up it would not go because I think the front was to heavy. Well in the process of trying to put it back up it fell on top of me. All I could think of was someone coming in and all they would see was a tree on the floor with a big butt showing. haha
When I finally got myself out from under the tree I had ornaments everywhere and hooks in my hair. It was just to funny. Only sad thing was two ornaments broke. When Joe got home he said the stand had broken from the fall and we would have to get a new one. So for now the tree is leaning into the corner to hold it up till we get a new stand..
Just gotta laugh at the these things.

This past week

I had a really "fun" week. I have a really bad habit of picking my zits on my face. Seems it finally paid me back by creating a huge infection on my chin. My lower face has pretty much been swollen since last Saturday. I ended up having to have my chin cut open on the outside to clean the infection out of that area and cut along the gum in front of my bottom teeth to clean the infection out from there also. Joe says maybe now this will break me from picking my zits... What really sucked was that last Sunday was the one year anniversary with Joe. He was so cute about it all. Brought me some flowers on Sunday, went and got dinner for us on Sunday as I did not wish to leave the house. He bought me some stuff I have been wanting for my new car so that was cool. I got him a magic bullet to replace the one he wore out. It is what he wanted. Also I finally was able to come back to work today as I was on pain killers and could not drive or do much as they made me really loopy and sleepy.

my cat, Nanook

he is now over a year old. I got him about this time last year. see how tiny he was and how freakin' big he is now. i really never figured he would get as big as he has. he is a great cat. so playful, except for getting in my yarn all the dang time.

My latest subject. Made a kitty from Marmalde Rose's Crochet Kitten Pattern. Very cool. My son, Nathan says he wants it so off to him it goes...

women at bars

So Joe and I were at a local bar Friday night. He loves Karoake and the bar also has the buzz trivia game so we usually go there on friday night so he can do karoake and we play buzz trivia. we were sitting at the bar most of the night and he went down to the dj to put in another song he wanted to sing. there was this woman down there and her friend joined her. i saw him pointing up towards me. later he told me the one woman told him her friend was single. he said he had a girlfriend and told them they had to have seen us together. she said her friend was fun. he ignored them from that point on put in his song and came back to sit with me. this is not the first time this has happened. he has been asked to dance by other women, etc. he is constantly hit on. one woman even tried to give him her phone number right in front of me. he and i could not believe it. we have yet to figure out why these trashy whores are so attracted to him and why they would even try to pick him up knowing he has a long standing girlfriend. we have almost dated a year now and we live together and most of these women know that. i just don't get women or men who would do this. there used to be some class and you did not go after anothers man or woman. not only that most of these women are in their early 20's and he could be their dad. i mean we both look like we are about 10 years younger than we are but come on. such bad manners now adays.
So I was telling a couple of my male coworkers about this and they said it happens to them all the time. they are both married and they said it is the attraction of what you cannot have. that the women know they cannot have joe so the attraction is even higher.. weird...

Prize Money

So I received my $100 check in the mail last week from winning third place in crochet as art in the CGOA contest with my pop top bowl. With some of the money I purchased a new bag for my crochet. It is a really cool backpack. It has places for hooks, yarn, etc. And I love backpacks so this is great for me. Still have $60 to spend...

CGOA

I had something so cool happen to me over the weekend. I had entered two items in the CGOA contest this year. I found out over the weekend I won third prize in the Crochet as Art section of the contest with my pop top bowl. So excited I can even begin to tell ya.

Getting Old

I have always had bad knees. My left knee in particular gets bad at times. Well I was sitting Indian style on Saturday for quite a while working on one of my purses I make. When I tried to get up I could not. On Sunday I could barely walk, etc. Still am having trouble bending the knee today. Seems I have pulled something in my knee. Guess I can't sit Indian style anymore.. ha. Oh well....

Memorial Day

First this was the first Memorial Day in 6 years where I did not have to do yard work. Joe had to work in the morning for a while so I slept in. Sat around and watched tv for a bit, then got ready to go meet him and one of his friends for a round of golf. We had a blast. I truly enjoyed this day...

Mother's Day 2009

I actually got to do what I wanted for a change. Did not have to go to church nor to brunch, etc. Joe had to work brunch so I got to sleep in till about 10:30. Took the dogs for a walk, played in the backyard with the animals, laid out on the deck and got some sun and lazed around the house. When Joe got home later in the day he took me to dinner at On the Border. It was really nice. Only thing that was sad was my son did not call me. He did call me two days later to tell me about his field trip to a water park and how he rode one ride something like five times... Anyway I felt I finally had a really cool Mother's day. It got to be my day rather than other people's version of what the day should be...

So I wanted to write about how great my birthday was. This was the best birthday I have ever had. For once it was about me and not what I had to do for my family, etc. I got to chose what I wanted to do not my family. It was on Saturday the 18th but Joe started with some goodies he bought on Friday night. When he got home from work we started celebrating. On Saturday, my birthday, we slept in. Took the dogs for a walk. Joe made me a great breakfast of french toast, english muffins and link sausage. Yummy. We also had a few mini donuts he had bought that were powdered with yellow and pink powder. Joe gave me my first card of the day with our breakfast. Then we chilled and relaxed till Joe went to work. Before he went to work he gave me another card. Both cards so far were funny cards which I love. I hate boring serious cards and won't even read them. In the second card he gave me $100. So after he went to work I went and got a pedicure and my eyebrows done. After that I went to Michaels and Hobby Lobby and did some shopping. I am currently making two purses so bought some lining fabric and handles for one of them. I also bought some yarn at Hobby Lobby I have been wanting but would normally not buy because of the price. Also went to Payless and bought a pair of flip flops and a pair of sandals. Then went home and took the dogs for a short walk. After Joe got off work he took me to the restaurant we went to on our first date. Terilli's is a very nice martini bar/restaurant that has blues/jazz bands playing each night. So we usually like to sit at the bar so we did. They have a wide variety of martinis they offer. So we had a few different flavors. We had a great dinner. Joe had another card for me before we left for the restaurant. It came with a book. The card was one of the ones that sings a song. It was really cool. So my whole day was so cool thanks to Joe who made it so special for me.

Update

I have been getting to ride my motorcycle. Having a blast. Joe has been riding it to and we are both having fun riding it. In June when I get my 6 month bonus we hope to purchase another bike so we can ride together. Working on writing a book on online dating and writing out my first crochet pattern. Plan on entering the pattern in the CGOA contest along with a freeform item.
Working on the house, cleaning up the yard and organizing the inside. Have my craft room all set up. It is great to have my own room to go to and not worry about bother another person's space with my stuff. Joe has his computer/office room off our bedroom so that is his personal space.
We are planning on doing some remodeling to the house eventually with making the living room and kitchen all one big room and putting a sliding door going out to the deck in the back yard.

Life

So lots of things have changed in my life. I now live with Joe in our house. We are in the process of getting things sorted for a yard sale. For Valentine's Joe has decided to do something very cool. He started on Saturday giving me something sweet each day till Valentines. Saturday was frosted valentines cookies, Sunday was green M&Ms, and Monday was a Wendy's chocolate frosty. Can't wait to see what today is.
Recently bought a motorcycle. Will be working on it over the next week. Getting it cleaned up, etc. Can't wait to ride it.
Joe and I will be painting the inside of the house, cleaning up the yard, painting the trim on the house, etc.
I know have the third bedroom as my craft room. Have my laptop all set up in there at a nice computer desk. Have all my craft stuff in there. Need to do some sorting and get more shelving but for the most part it is cool. It has a sofa and tv in there so Nathan can have a playroom in there also.
